Where the heck am I?

I'm a terrible blogger.  I've been eating chips and salsa all week and that is why I can't come to the computer.  I blame it on Jenny @ Anything Pretty for posting the ingredients for the 'zesty' salsa that she made.  I was so inspired that I actually went to the grocery store that evening and purchased Ball jars.  This does not happen at my house, trust me.  Just like Jenny, all the ingredients came from our garden except for the prissy cilantro that is TOO GOOD to grow for home gardeners.  Also like Jenny, an entire jar disappeared within a very short time.  I still have alot left, though.
It is chunky and deliciously spicy because I threw some jalapeno seeds in there.  I swear, if I didn't make it myself I would think it had crack in it.  Shaun also thinks this salsa is the bomb diggity....too bad I couldn't recreate it easily.  I certainly didn't measure out all those ingredients, I just kept using the food processor on everything and mixing it together until it tasted like happiness and rainbows.  Walah!

  1. You will not.stop.eating.it. It just might have been my dinner tonight. I kept saying to myself "OK this is the last chip so I don't plow through an entire jar" but I kept eating. But I left a tiny bit so I was not the girl who ate a jar of salsa for dinner. So glad you liked the recipe and yours looks so good!

  3. Next year I definitely need to grow everything to make salsa. Mister will only eat one particular type of salsa, which needs to be bought somewhere I don't shop weekly. Last time I went, I bought three jars. One was gone the next day.

  7. Oh yum, that looks delicious! Eating chips and salsa TOTALLY counts as a reason for not blogging! ...doesn't it? ;) We may or may not have made some homemade queso and eaten it instead of blogging recently.

  8. I may have to try this... along with trying to make my parents famous hot dog relish AND homemade dill pickles (which will make you never eat a store bought dill pickle ever again). The list keeps growing! Have a great weekend Sara!

  11. Chips and salsa are my FAVE too. Obviously they're at their best when the chips and salsa are both homemade, but I'll pretty much eat any variety, any time, any where (it's preferable if the salsa is spicy). I have a couple homemade salsa recipes that I REALLY wanted to share...just spent 10 minutes sifting through my files and that's all my ADD will allow. So I'm sharing this with you instead: http://stylefyles.tumblr.com/post/574934438/cinco-de-mayo

I'm apologize ahead of time for teasing you with photos w/o recipes :(

  12. I've never canned anything in my life, but I know I love some good salsa! I'm going straight to that page and I may have a use for the tomatoes in my garden (other than the mountains of bruchetta I've been making).

  14. Considering I fried my keyboard when I spilled homemade salsa on it, I think you're smart to stay off the computer when eating (or making) it ;) And now I have to go try that recipe......
