Invitations

So, I'm sick as a dog.  If I had a dime for every cough, I would be able to pay for our entire wedding by now.  For the last week I've been miserable, so I hope you forgive the sparse posts!  I thought I'd share our wedding invitations because you all seem to like this wedding stuff.  Here is the pocketfold all put together:
I designed everything in Publisher using free fonts from dafont.com, and my sparkling wit and creativity.  The Tiffany Blue pocketfold, white cardstock, and red envelopes are from paperandmore.  I highly recommend them, the 80# cardstock went easily through my home printer and looks wonderful!  Here is how I closed them up:
My new last name will be Hilton, in case you were wondering!  The inserts:
I made this map using a google map pasted into powerpoint, and the 'curve' tracing tool in the program.  It turned out super cute, in my opinion!
And my favorite, the RSVP.  I stole this wording from somewhere online, I couldn't resist making it funny!  I realized too late there is no place for the guest to write their name, and also there is not a date to RSVP by.  We numbered the backs according to guest, and are planning to make some phone calls if we haven't heard from people by end of April.
Everything was cut (by me) after printing, I got the 'Making Memories' paper trimmer from Michaels and I'm quite happy with it.
Shaun has logged a lot of hours positioning/attaching the red mats and invites to the pocketfolds.  He looked so cute, I had to snap a pic of him in action.
So, internets, feel free to show up uninvited to the event.  I thought about blurring out some things, but decided I'm sick, lazy, and I'll just be nice to any stalkers or crashers.  That would make a pretty good blog post, eh?
Oh, and if you are interested, our wedding website is http://www.loveonrussetstreet.com/, sign my guestbook if you wanna!

  3. Sara - I think it is well known around this blog that everything you do (or at least that you show us here in the BlogZone) turns out beautifully (see: woman-cave built-ins, your dressing room, the patio, etc, etc)...but, these wedding invitations really take the cake. Absolutely fantastic! And those RSVPs -- pure wedding gold. Good luck with everything!

  9. I hope you feel better soon! You're invites are so nice and fun! It's awesome you and Shawn are making them together--we DIY'd ours as well and I think it was what Bryan and I had the most fun doing. SO, out of curiosity, how long have you and Shawn been together?

  13. Cute! Our invites were DIY cut and paste on a backer too and I have to admit I kind of miss putting them all together and now get totally stoked when I get to round corners and use a paper cutter.

    It's a glamorous life I lead!

  31. Aw man, I was totally going to make a crack about crashing your wedding since you didn't blur the address, but then you invited us all.

Also, you're making me want to DIY my invitations... those are super cute!

  32. Love your invites -- I had a similar style. I wanted to be funny on the RSVP cards, but my guests wouldn't have got it. Hell, they were confused by the "I promise to dance if you play ________" spot. Humor would've spiraled out of control.

Hope you feel better! We were leveled by the flu and we're just now starting to feel human.

Karrie - we've been together for 5.5 years. We've been engaged for 2.5 years, so that is why I have on the invite that we're 'finally tying the knot' after much procrastination! ha
