Two months

Ashford is growing like a weed.  He turned 2 months old on Sunday and is already 12 pounds and 23.5 inches! He's about average for weight, and a bit longer than average length.  His head is 25th percentile - Shaun has a wee head too, so we're not surprised.
He is sleeping about 5-6 hours when we first put him down at night, with variances from 4 all the way up to 7.5 hours one magical night.  Not really napping during the day, though.
He is barely fitting into some 3 month sleepers because he is too long, and onesies are getting tight to snap, too. What is with all the short, wide baby clothes?  Carters seems to be the best fitting, with a longer, thinner cut.
He is getting better at being in his swing or on the activity mat alone while we make dinner, etc...thank goodness.
He is smiling at everyone and starting to pay lots of attention to toys, the tv, his own feet, and light fixtures.  And sometimes the wall.  I don't judge.
He does not like the car seat too much, so trips to run errands are quick and dirty when he's along for the ride....some trips are dirtier than others.  I think he's brewing up a dirty diaper in this pic, now that I mention it.
And here are a couple side by sides from month 1.  Too cute how much he's filled out!
Just for funsies, here is a funny comparison of a bath pic from 3 weeks, and one from 8 weeks.  WOW!  I just can't believe the difference.
He screamed during his 2 month vaccinations this morning, seemed fine for a few hours, and now is screaming again while I'm holding him and waiting for the Tylenol to kick in.  Guess I'm not getting anything done today.  Poor baby!

  1. Shots are the suck. That bath pic is hilarious, you don't realize just how big they're getting till you see the proof! He's so adorable Sara.

  4. Poor little guy with the shots. And poor momma too. Henry wasn't himself for a few days after shots. Broke my heart. Ashton is getting so big and handsome!!!

  5. Cutie pa-tutie! Good job mommy! Our guy is 4 months today. They grow up so fast. Sigh.

  6. Adorable! We stick with Carter's clothes for the most part mainly because they are longer and leaner. And I can't deal with figuring out how other brands fit her and what size to buy.

  7. Sooo cute! :) Time sure does fly, and I hear you on baby clothes sizing. Carter's has always fit Halle the best too, being long and thin. I don't get the short wide baby clothes either... she never wears those onesies for very long...

Congrats Mommy - sounds like things are pretty good, and they will only continue to get better! :)

  12. He's adorable....one thing I've always done to my babies before vaccination...give them Tylenol when you arrive at the docs office..that way the Tylenol is already in their system before shots.

  13. Don't worry, 2 month shots are hell but the 4 month shots are a breeze! (Relatively.) We just did it and there was crying during and none after. Yay! Good luck and a better tomorrow!

  14. I could have written this post! P is the exact same weight and is 24.5" long at 2 months! And we also dealt with shots last week and it was horrible to see him so miserable!

    Ash is such a cutie!!

  15. Ashford is freakin' adorable! My guy is so long that he will only fit in the Carter's clothes, too. I can't even tell you how many short, wide outfits he didn't even wear.

No-one told me to give Coops some tylenol before or after his 2-month shots so I'm sure you can imagine what a great day that was. He was out of sorts for a day or two and I was really worried but then he was back to his little self soon enough.

Love those bath pics! Too cute!

  16. Those side by side pics are hilarious. You've got a good healthy eater on your hands! how great! I think he and Lucy would make a cute couple....that is assuming little ashford likes an older woman!! :)

  19. I'm glad you liked that, I thought it was pretty funny! He sometimes stares at the wall so hard I have to physically turn his head to my boob. What a weirdo.

  21. Congratulations, again! He is really growing up! I'm happy to hear that he's sleeping for longer stretches.

I had my son on 7/26 and he's wearing my husband and I out. He only sleeps for 2-3 hours at a time and some days he refuses to nap. Seeing your photos of how much your son has grown is already making me miss when my Max was a teeny, tiny newborn.

    Best wishes!
