My House is Christmasy

Here is what I managed to throw together for Christmas decor this year.  Yeah, it looks almost exactly like last year.  Sue me for not being that creative or making any crafts.

I put one of our old window sashes on the piano for a makeshift xmas card and stocking holder.  I think I may keep it there after the holidays, too.  It's slightly crazy.  It looks much better in person.
I love how the candle lights up this silvery tree.  I like to stare at it during stupid tv commercials.  When I'm not blogging, of course.
Our tree is pre-lit, and one strand of lights blinks on and off.  It is maddening.  It's actually a problem with a bulb socket, I may do a post later on about the trials and tribulations of trying to fix it.  But don't hold your breath.
And here is how it looks while the strand is out.  I'm sure you are fascinated.
I need to give a close-up to the ridiculous Pier 1 pickle that I won from the lovely Lindsay.  It really is a scream!  Too bad my red hoodie got reflected in the ornament....
I went a little 'crazy' and added some teal ribbon to the banister this year.  And snowflakes.  I'm such a Christmas ninja.
Now all we need is some Baileys and movies on demand.  Who's with me??

**I just realized the only part of the living room that didn't get 'Christmased' is our fireplace mantle.  Yeah, I'm totally backwards.**

  1. Too funny that you didn't decorate the mantel for Christmas. Your dining room is such a Christmas room, you don't have to do much and it looks festive. I love your tree - with and without the blinking strand of lights. It's all looking lovely - here's wishing you a lovely Christmas.

  2. Love your dining room and your tree is pretty with all those gifts wrapped up. I still have a lot to wrap.

    Have a Merry Christmas!

  3. Baileys and movies - Count me in! And if you didn't know, Carolans is also good & almost half the price of Baileys.

Your mantle not being decorated - I kinda love you for that. As someone who doesn't HAVE a fireplace or mantle, I'm definitely mantled out this holiday season. And yeah, I'm pretty sure I just made up the phrase "mantled out".

  4. Your tree looks like a magazine tree and I mean that in a very good way! It's beautiful!

I love the dining room. It feels like a whole new space!

  5. That blinking strand would drive me batty. I didn't realize that we seem to have twin two-toned living rooms! For the record - I dig the ribbon and ninja-flakes on the stairs. :)

  6. Oh my gosh, your dining room is TO DIE FOR. I am so jealous! Merry Christmas!!

  7. Absolutely beautiful... I love how subtle and sophisticated all your decorations are. I don't like the screaming, over the top decorating.

The blinking strand would drive me crazy!!!

Wishing you a happy Christmas and a healthy New Year. Sharon

  8. How dare you not make a mantlescape!! Just kidding, I think the rest of your decor more than makes up for the lack of mantlescape. I want ninja snowflakes...

  9. LOL on not decorating the mantle! We have two fireplaces and we didn't decorate either because we haven't found any fun stockings we both like. And next year we won't have any mantle...major renovations to come I tell ya.

I'm digging the stairwell decor and the silver tree!

  10. You crack me up! :) Count me in for Baileys!

Anyway, your house looks awesome, as usual. Merry Christmas!!

  11. Hahaha I love that you didn't Christmas-ify your mantle!

Also, I would totally have ninja snowflakes if we had stairs.

  12. I love your banister!! If I had a staircase I would totally copy your ribbon and ninja stars. :) Merry Christmas to you!

  13. Merrry Christmas! How do you win everything???

  14. Just stopping by to say Merry Christmas!

  15. I love how those stockings look on that old window pane!

  16. I do love your glittery tabletop trees and that window sash on your piano. Totally think you should keep it there. I also think we have the same (or a very similar) pickle ornament that was given to us as a gift!

  17. Love the snowflakes on the banister, just one more reason to wish we had an open staircase...

I am still jealous of your awesome pineapple-ly lamp, BTW.

Thanks so much for reading....your comments mean a lot to me!
