CSN Review

So, remember last month when I said that I was going to review a pendant light from CSN?  Well, behold.....my review.  Let's start with the basics.  This light came about a week after I ordered it, so that was sweet.  I only had to pay $12 due to the generous gift from CSN!
This is the box.  Do not be fooled, contrary to the 'Easy Lite' reference you see here, this light was NOT easy to install.
The instructions were pitiful, the cord was about 10 feet long and needed to be cut and stripped more than once, and more than half of the crystals were wrapped like this:
The plus is that the crystals are all real glass, and beautiful.  The minus is that they are held on with these tiny little wire loops that have a tendency of stretching out and not meeting up anymore.  I had to spend some real time making sure they were tight.  The company includes extra crystals to customize the length of the light - longer and shorter ones.
As you can imagine, the canopy part is super heavy.  And unfortunately, the entire crystal canopy needs to be removed in order to put in the bulb.  I didn't realize this until after I had everything assembled.  Apparently, I am not the brightest bulb....oh, yeah!  Awesome pun for you!  Anyway, I was quite pissed to take it down again to install a bulb.
Regardless of the annoying install, I LOVE this light.  I may be ticked off every time I have to change the bulb, but as long as I have a blanket placed underneath the fixture to catch any 'suicidal crystals', it's not that bad.  And believe me, a blanket saved a few already.
The inside of the recessed area was just painted flat white to make it 'disappear,' and I'm really happy with the way it turned out.  Despite the issues, I would definitely buy this again because it is so perfect for my room.
Do you agree it was worth the hassle?  Next up is my completed room!  For real!

Very pretty- though dismantling it to change/install a bulb is a huge pain in the butt.

I've always loved those fixtures! It looks great but I wish the bulb was less noticeable like the picture on the box. Oh well it's reality right?

Robin - it will help if I replace the white bulb with a clear one. I just used what I had laying around because I was already irritated about how difficult it was to put together. But I agree, they always make it look so much better on the packaging and websites!

Whoever said beauty was painless? Gorgeous!

oohhhhh, pretty. I saw that light a few weeks ago and thought it was looking snazzy, nice pick!

And aren't you happy you didn't have to go on an alcohol strike for long because Porcher made it up to us??? :) :) :)

Nice light. It looks perfect. We actually have the same light in purple. It came with the house so we didn't have the joy of assembling it. We did have to change the bulb once though. It was a good opportunity to wash the crystals while it was down.

Gorgeous men are high maintenance too. I would know.

I think I'd go through anything for this chandelier. Anything!

Gorgeous! It's so feminine. But you can always use an energy saving bulb to cut down on change-outs so that's a plus.

It looks like it was worth it to me! Just like perfectly plucked eyebrows- no pain, no gain.

Gorgeous! So happy that it ended up working out despite the painstaking installation. The ladies are right: Beauty is pain! But its well worth it!! :)

It's beautiful and perfect there. I say it's worth it, but I wasn't the one who had to deal with it. Easy for me to say.

Beautiful light! Looks great in your room. Also, thanks for the honest review of the difficulties - so many times I feel that reviews gloss over the not-so-good parts of projects.

Cannot believe it was called "Easy Light" - seriously? Maybe they laughed when they put that on the box!! In any case, looks great!

I have been looking for a light like this for above our window seat... it is ADORABLE. I love it. Seriously considering buying this despite the difficult installation and my ZERO knowledge of installing any type of lighting...
