Fully picture-framed walls weren't far behind. We now have 6-inch window sills, people!
Everything was primed inside and out, and it finally started to look finished.
And when everything was painted with a coat of satin white, I was in love!
The outside view is just what I had pictured, they did a great job.
There is more work to be done. I have to put another coat of paint on everything
because the contractor's bid only included one coat of each. I also have to prime and paint the window box.
And the ceiling needs paint since they moved the wall in slightly from the old one.
All of this extra painting is worth it, I am just thrilled with our new space. I've already got bamboo blinds ordered and a ceiling fan will be on it's way soon...I can't believe this space used to be rotted and screenless!
I love the chunky new wood, thick window sills, and tall windows. It doesn't get much better than this! Unless my Neon would magically turn into a new F150. That would definitely be better.
Oh Sara, it is just gorgeous! Can't wait to see the final product. You're going to use this space all the time now!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great Sara, I thought that leaving it open would have been wonderful but your closed in porch has been done so tastefully that it is better than I expected! Well done. xx
ReplyDeleteI love it! The picture frame molding is to die for and it's going to be so great to be able to open all those windows when the weather cools off again. I love that you saved the window box, too!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I kind of like the flower box a little rough looking with the new space! Gives it character. But freshly painted would look great as well. The space really did come together well.
ReplyDeleteThat looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteLooks fantabulous.......love how the trim echoes the garage door! Can't wait to see how you decorate inside this beautiful space.
ReplyDeleteSara it looks so awesome with the chunky wood! Makes a huge difference! Looking forward to the finished product!
ReplyDeleteSara ... it is beautiful ... it is going to be the most used room in your home.
ReplyDeleteSara! This is beautiful! I can't wait to see what you do with the inside of the room. Those flower boxes are going to make it look wonderful from the outside. Great job! :)
ReplyDeleteOh Yay!!! It's beautiful! I can't wait to see pictures of the finished, furnished space. I LOVE the picture framed walls. I'm trying to design something similar for my family room. Very nice job!

ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I love the chunky wood. I've got an old, gross sun porch as well, and you've definitely given me some inspiration. Can't wait to see it all finished!

ReplyDeleteWow, that looks great! I love all the crisp white! Painting is such a pain - but totally worth it in the end. :)

ReplyDeleteLooking good! I'll be over in an hour with a a couple of glasses and some wine or maybe a few microbrew beers. What is your pick? HAHA Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThat looks fantastic! It looks so crisp and clean.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what it looks like furnished! It's a drastic improvement over the old porch.
ReplyDeleteLove it! I'm sure you will get a lot of enjoyment out of this space.
ReplyDeleteLooks fantastic! We are getting ready to undertake a similar project....I have some specific questions for you if you don't mind...what brand and size are those windows? How far are they from the ground? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great!
ReplyDeleteCatherine, the windows are Jeld-Wen aluminum storms, they were a special order size, 70x30. Once they were framed in, the glass area is 67x27 inches. They start 27 inches from the floor. Hope this helps!
ReplyDeleteIt is sooo amazing! I am thrilled for you, but I do not envy all the painting you have ahead of you! Of course, you enjoy painting, so I guess it's not that big a deal. Can't wait to see the finished product!
ReplyDeleteAs expected, it looks great! Can't wait to see the ceiling fan you decided on, I covet your entire house!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sara, that does help!
ReplyDeleteWow, looks super fab!!! Great job! :D
ReplyDeleteWowza! So... can I come over for a drink? Preferably one that you pass through the window (although I can't remember if you ended up replacing that kitchen window so it opens...) It is looking super fab!!!
ReplyDeleteSara, your porch looks FANTASTIC! Crisp and fresh and awesome!
ReplyDeleteThis looks fantastic! I can't wait to see how you decorate it! ox
