My last week

Ashford is 11 weeks today, and this is my last week of maternity leave.  I am not thrilled.
Forgive my lame posts while I try to get back to 'regular life' without crying.  At least I know baby is happy.
I have a couple little things I'm working on, but most of my projects have to be things that I can easily quit if I hear a meltdown in the living room.  Since I just have these few days left with Ashford, I'm putting everything on hold to just hang out.
Thanks for putting up with my 'mommy-ness.'
I promise there are some good house posts coming in the future.  For now, I'm going to play outside with my family.

  2. I feel so lucky that we get a year maternity leave here in Canada. It must be so incredibly hard to go back to work before then. Enjoy your last week with your little man. What a cutie!

  4. That blows :-( 11 weeks doesn't seem like nearly long enough to spend with your new little one. I'm pretty excited for a year "off" (I'm in Canada) but maybe there's no timeframe that would seem like enough. Enjoy the rest of your week!

  10. its so hard going back to work (I was still working when I had my older two, and went back at 7 weeks and 10 weeks with them). It gets easier eventually.

He is looking adorable and happy--is he fussing less?

  11. 12 weeks?? That is so sad. Although having the ability to eat a full meal or go to the washroom alone might be a nice perk :-)

  14. I strongly believe we need a longer maternity leave in the U.S. I know how lucky I am that I work from home....it makes me appreciate strong kick-ass sexy pants mamas like you. FWIW, I hear it's nice to be able to pee w/out a baby on/watching you. =]

Will be thinking of you & darling Ashford! You done good girl, real good.

(I <3 those pics of you & Shaun. Further proof that if we lived closer we'd totes hang out & be VIPs at the local liquor store.)

  19. I went back to work at 12 weeks as well. It was gut wrenching at first for sure but then we all adjusted. It certainly does make you appreciate the time do you have that much more. Is he going into full time daycare? You look super awesome, btw :) xo

  20. I went back last week as well. It has been incredibly rocky and the hardest thing I've had to do. Hope things are going well for you guys :)

  21. It flys by so fast doesn't it? Since I am late commenting, you are probably back by now? I hope it is going well. They are so miss-able and it is difficult at first but then you find your groove. And it is nice to pee by yourself. I also found working made me value my time with him so much more and make every moment count.

Although I am a little bitter at Canadians at this exact moment...

  22. Another Canadian here and I just have to say that I really think you peeps down south get a raw deal when it comes to maternity leave. I'm due in February and I can't imagine going back to work with such a wee baby at home. I know Ashford will be just fine but I can't imagine how sad you must be. Enjoy your last few days of leave!

  23. I know you're back to work (I'm way behind on my blog reading). Hope you are still having fun family time with Ashford when you're home. My hubby and I are taking our 7 week old to the beach this weekend... I'm so excited to get some cute family photos (if he's not having a meltdown).
