Red lantern district

Kat and Mrs. Chic mentioned appreciation for the red lanterns hanging from our garage in my last post.  I'm here to give a little close-up action to my beloved lanterns.  They are from Pier 1, but it looks like they don't have the small ones anymore.
I picked up some 2 dollar hooks from Menards and then Shaun had a fun time trying to screw them into the mortar.  Lets just say we made one hole too big and I *may* have shoved some rolled up cardboard into the hole to make the screw tighten.  It's not like they weigh a ton!
I did pick up a large lantern as well, which we will not attempt to hang up.  Because clearly we are not ninjas at lantern-hanging.  It looks great sitting out on the seat wall, anyway.  When I got these, they were on sale for $7 each for the small ones, and $21 for the biggun.  I also had a sweet $25 gift card courtesy of my Discover rewards card. Yeah, I was pretty happy with my $10 receipt total!
I'm looking forward to many more patio evenings with these babies lit up with citronella candles!  Although it would be nice if they helped to stop my skin from turning into an all-night mosquito buffet.  What can I say, I'm sweet.

Those are pretty awesome. I think I like the big one better, but we have a ton of stuff to hang. I think it won't be until next summer that we really focus on the exterior anyway! I'd looove to have a gorgeous patio like yours... but I don't think it will ever happen in our tiny Toronto yard haha

Sara, your patio is so beautiful. I love the red on the lanterns and the red on the cushions. What a great place to sit in the evening .... with a big glass of wine!

Those lamps are so cute - love the red! And I'm with you on not drilling into the brick , too-big holes sounds like something I would do too ;)

Your lawn is so beautiful and well manicured...that's what he said?

Anyway, back to appropriate commenting. I've seen the lanterns at Pier 1 and have been wanting to get a lime green one. The red ones look so fabulous in your yard! You have done an amazing job!

Hmm, I might have to work on my ninja hanging lantern skills this weekend and try my hand at a similar project!

*Sorta giggle-snorts at Meg*

That really is the perfect spot for entertaining, and those lanterns are a great shot of color.

Very cute. I'll add, for anyone looking for a similar style, that they have lanterns close to these at Ikea

So cute. I'm going to try to down a few bottles of wine this weekend (not alone!) and make the funky wine bottle torches I've seen around the blogs lately. Bottoms up!

Love those red ones hanging off your house! Gorgeous. I picked up some of the silver ones the other day - thought they might look cute on our little porch. I heart lanterns! :)

Where did you find the free standing citranela candles? I need/want to get some of these vs. the little buckets I have - they aren't very pretty.

I love the patio! It's amazing!
