And a project ruins another weekend

I have a paint-soaked weekend ahead of me.  We turned down many fun events including a 'Wine and Dine' event in Milwaukee, a huge block party in downtown Racine, and Shaun's 10 year high school reunion in Chicago....to stay home and finish these stupid bookcases.  I took one for the team and came home from work early today so I could don my painting clothes
pour myself a delicious frosty Fat Tire (hey, it's after 1pm!)
And get started painting this beast of a built-in.  Yeah, we totally stole that glass from a bar....they don't make women's purses so big for nothing, right?  Oh, and you're welcome for all the thumbs-up in this post.  And for talking about beer twice in one week.

PEACE!

  1. Painting clothes are not supposed to be cute. I know about projects taking over weekends. I was going to go to the Nesters garage sale tomorrow but I am getting guilty feelings for all the unfinished projects in every room.

  2. Augh. I don't care that you had to cancel your plans. You have Fat Tire. Can't get it in Michigan. Count your lucky stars. ;)

  4. I feel ya girl. I'll be rototilling my 3000 sq ft backyard tomorrow. I'll need more than a few fat tires!

  5. My weekend looks to be about the same.. lots of projects and painting! And beer, of course. It's the only way we get anything done around our house!

P.S. Your painting clothes are really cute! Mine are raggedy old huge t-shirts and holey sweatpants. :)

  6. hahaha I should take a page from your book. We have a lot to accomplish this weekend, but instead of staying at home and getting things done we'll be gone the entire time for different things. I know it'll be fun, but come Sunday night I'll be exhausted and stressed with all of the things I need to complete before B's parents arrive for Cdn Thanksgiving next Friday!

Anyway, painting can't be all that bad if you're drinking beer... right? :)

  7. We definitely just canceled a vacation to stay home next week and finish that (bleepity-bleepin') fence and painting the exterior of the house.

This whole house-renovating this a freaking disease. And yet somehow I still love it.

  8. Good luck!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has, on occasion, lifted glassware from an establishment with the aid of my handbag. :)

  10. Have fun! It sucks to spend your weekend on a project, but you'll be glad once it's done!

My husband would applaud your choice of beer. (I'm not much of a beer connoisseur myself, but it does look pretty good in that glass.) Oh, and we have entire shelves in our cupboard filled with glasses from restaurants/bars. :)

  12. You're a cutie!

My father used to call Fat Tire "Flat Tire" and not on purpose.

  15. Been there, done that! Painting our exterior took an entire month of nothing but painting every spare minute. I was really starting to get jealous of the people going for walks who where watching me paint. But alas, it was worth it.

  20. Beer makes every project better....and if you have to take off work to paint and miss fun things....beer is defiantly called for! And your painting clothes are so much better than mine. I love the captain's pose!
